My father is Burk Dordan McGreevy of Port Arthur, Texas. My grandfather was Burk McGreevy, also from Port
Arthur. His father was Edward Michael McGreevy, born in
odell, Illinois in 1865. His father was Edward McGreevy
and immigrated from Ireland to Boston. I would appreciate any information on this branch of the McGreevy's.

Thank you,
Micheal McGreevy
Beaumont, Texas.

Don't know if I can be of help, but consider the following:
There were four McGreevy families identified in a 1743[?] listing in North County Roscommon, between Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon. I know a little about a line from Ed to Cornelius, thence to another Cornelius, a Patrick, then my own grandfather, father, and so forth. Most emigrated to Hamilton OH in 1840, before the Famine, though a son, Owen, stayed behind. One of his sons emigrated to Indiana ca. 1880. His grandson, Michael McGreevy, now deceased, wrote an excellent family history. Perhaps you would find something of use there. I have my own copy.

Finally, I was in Moylurg in Jul-Aug 97. I am, with others, planning a family reunion for 2000 or 2001, and I hope you would be interested to attend.

There are only a few hundred McGreevy's by Michael's count, so count yourself lucky. My wife, Shaun Murphy, has little hope of tracking down a direct line to the past.
