I often read of families that were evicted or relocated by Lord Leitrim in the late 1800's. Is anyone aware of any records that may exist with this regard ?

I don't know about Lord Leitrim but I found that the Public Record Office in Belfast have lots of estate records as, I assume, has the Dublin Public Record Office. Some of my ancestors lived on the Madden estate in Leitrim and I found loads about it at the following web site
http://proni.nics.gov.uk/records/private/madden.htm

it talks of rent records, maps, journal records etc.

Just as a matter of interest one of the Maddens was a son-in-law of Lord Leitrim and there is some stuff about him in these records.

Definitely worth a try

Jim

Michael I dont think the term 'relocated' as accurate to the true events and deeds of his 'Lordship'
If you have not already, I think you should read a book titled 'Woodbrook' by David Thomson.
This is highly educational to the history of Ireland.
