Am a Irish researcher on the following spellings of the surname, BRUEN, BRUIN, BREWEN, BREWIN, from all of Ireland, but mostly from Co. Roscommon & Co. Sligo. I have the Irish index on Births, Marriages, & Deaths on this surname plus some census and church records. Will help any researcher on this surname.

Seeking information on the surname BROWN from Geevagh, Sligo . Wondering if perhaps Brown may be an anglicised version of these other surnames . My g-g-grandfather, Terence Tiernan of Ummeryroe married Hanora (Anne) Brown . There are Bruins listed as living in Ummeryroe, in the Tithes recs, next door to Terence at that time . Any advice/suggestions will be appreciated .

I am interested in learning if an ANN BRUEN in my family tree was from Roscommon, had siblings, etc.

Ann was born about 1834 in Ireland, the daugher of ANDREW BRUEN. She married about 1856 in Sandusky, Erie Co. Ohio, THOMAS MULDOWNEY, and died 3 April 1919 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co. Ohio. Thomas Muldowney was a native of Moigh, near Cootehall, Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Seven children were born: Ann, Emma, Timothy, Henry, Andrew, Sarah and Joseph P. I have some information about some of her descendants.

Incidentally, other misspellings of Ann's Bruen name I have found include: Braun,Bromm, Brennan and Brown
