: The royal lineage of the Geraghty is correct.
We are indeed of royal blood, and the clans
that you mentioned seem to match what my
father told me. We have a map of Ireland with
family crests and shields surrounding the border;
the Geraghtys (McGeraghty) originated from
the North west of Ireland (I think, from memory).
The crest is two red birds flying over a hill
with one (crooked) tree.....I would like to know
what this means.

Thanx....

Searching for my GGrandmother Margaret Geraghty who was lived in County Mayo. She was born abt 1830 and married Dominic Quinn who died and is supposed to be buried in County Mayo. Margaret Geraghty Quinn emigrated to USA, Shenandoah, Schulykill County, PA. She had one child that I know of and her name was Mary Ann Quinn,, my grandmother who married Benjamin Sunderland b29 Jan 1864 in Silver Creek, New Philadelphia, Schuylkill County PA. Mary Ann and Benjamin had 5 children, Benjamin Jr (b 1894)., Margaret V (b 1897), Lizzie, Mary Helen (b 1903-my Mother) and Anna (b1906)
