Came to NY and settled in NJ All my research seems to turn up absoluetly nothing on either name in Leitrim Any help would be apprceiated, Thanks

I don't have any specific information for you, but my g-grandmother was Margaret Gilbane, also from that area. I have learned that the names Kilbane and Gilbane are interchangable. I know nothing about Mortimer. Good luck with your research!

The 1901 census lists 1 Kilbane and 9 Gilbane. I have a McLoughlin Gilbane connection.
