Trying to connect with other descendants of Mary Flynn Fox, wife of John Fox (son of John) and sons. Mary (b. 1801, IRE) brought her sons,
Martin(1834), Michael(1836), Barney(1839), John(1843) & James(1846) to Westbrook, Maine, USA in 1847 from IRE. Michael who served in American Civil War gave his birthplace as Brackary Beg, County Leitrim, IRE. It is believed that John Fox stayed in IRE with older children.

If you look on the data base on this site you will see that Brackery Beg is a townland in the civil parish of Killanset and that there were Foxes still living there at the time of the 1901 census. From the Ordinance Survey Map # 16 it looks as if Brackery is just off the road between Manor Hamilton and Rossiniver at the base of the spectacular steep barren mountains that cover that part of Leitrim and which also has a lot of megalithic tomb sites in it.
