: Hello, just carrying-out some research, should anyone recognise our family name, please get in touch.Hi Patrick. In the 1899 Scots death certificate of my ancestor (and County Leitrim native), Henry McNally, his parents are listed as Owen McNally and Ally Moun. I had assumed that Ally Moun, as it was spelled on the certificate, was Ally Maughan, very often spelled Mawn in the Irish records. At www.irishgenealogy.ie, there are 149 birth records and 52 marriage records listed for Mawn/Maughan in County Leitrim. Henry McNally was married in 1849 at Haddington, East Lothian County, Scotland, to Helen Bohan. In the 1855 birth record of one of their children, they listed their respective birthplaces as County Leitrim, Ireland. Perhaps some of these names show up in your research? Bill
