Hello there
I am new to this researching but wonder if anyone can help me. My great grandfather was Michael Conerton (as written on his marriage cert). He married Eliza Rollins in 1872 in Boston. At some point they must have returned to Ireland. My grandfather was Joseph William Connaughton(m. Charlotte Currams). My father was Herbert Connaughton (m. Christina Prendergast). My Dad was from Ballicumber and my Mum from Tullimore. They emigrated to Australia in 1956.
Woluld my Great grandfather have gone to America during the famine?. Was his name changed at Ellis Island?.
Other lines in my family history..all in Ireland are Connaughton, Currams, Dobbins,Prendergast, Duffy, Greham,.

Thanks in anticipation
Elizabeth
