I have just learned that my ggrandmother Jane Lee was from Kilronan Parish. In 1856 she married Andrew Cassidy of Tullyveane Inishmagrath Parish. Their Banns of Marriage were registered in Manor Hamilton, but there is no record of a marriage in Leitrim, I'm wondering if they might have married in Kilronan. (I just sent an email to the parish priest there).According to the 1901 census, she would have been born around 1837.
I've checked out the Lees who were in Kilronan in 1901, the 13 families were in five townlands clustered close together near the Leitrim border and Lough Allen. The road south from Tullyveane leads right to the area (convenient for courtship !)
I would love to find out who her family were, especially her mother
(who would be my mother's mother's mother' mother's mother).
Any other leads such as Griffiths or tithes or links to other Lees from the parish would be appreciated.

I see a
1.Mary Lee married to John Eardly from Lislea and Glasdruuman around 1845 from Kilronan
2. Mary Lee married to Peter Early No townland given but again Kilronan again around 1830.
3. Mary Lee married to William Early around 1842 again no Townnland.
My relatives from Edinburgh searched for one of these records the 2nd one I think in vain for 15 years paying all sorts of researches and going to Dublin three times. I was lucky someone gave them to me.
If you think there is a connection to the above get back to me and on AnnBrownell@hotmail.com and I will list the childrens names and birth years. You could also try reading the LDS film for Kilronan you might get the info there
good luck
ann

I have a record of a Brigid Lee married to a James Gaffney and having
a family while living at Boderagh in Kilronan in the 1830's to 1860
and a Catherine Lee also married to a James Gaffney and having a
family while living in Crosshill in Kilronan 1n 1824 through 1835.

Hope this helps.
