The townland of Lisahart appears in the 1749 Elphin Census. However it isn't to be found in later records. Does anyone know if this townland name may have changed and what it would be called in later census records for Tibohine civil parish? There are Callaghans in Lisahart that I believe are part of the Callaghans I am tracking. Thanks.

I searched in vain for some time for the Townland of Aughrim. Iwas very familiar with the Townlands of Mohill Parish and the surrounding areas. Friends in Connecticut told me it existed, but it was not on maps or records. It was on tombstones in Mohill though. Finally I found it in a local book on th Mohill area.It turns out it was the LOCAL name for the Townland of Aghadrumcarn which I was familiar with was Aughrim. |
