Hello, Everyone,
We received the following message through our web site and as a show of support and thanks for the assistance and warm welcome that the people of Kilglass Parish, Roscommon, have given us in our hunt for our roots, we ask you to help put them over the top in this contest for a new pitch. The Kilglass bid is the winning one from the province of Connacht so anyone with roots in Ireland’s northwest may want to see Kilglass win. Please note, the contest allows you to VOTE EVERY DAY until it ends. A new pitch would, we know, mean so much to the Kilglass community where G.A.A. has existed for generations. This is the parish right outside of Strokestown, where the Famine Museum is located.
With our thanks,
The Ballykilcline Society
Hello To Pete and all the Ballykilcline Society.
I have an unusual request. Kilglass Gaels G.A.A. Club which is the hub of the community in Kilglass have been chosen to represent Kilglass, Roscommon and Connacht in the Kelloggs Field of Dreams Competition, The competition offers the overall winner a Makeover for the pitch grounds which would be very welcome for our pitch as it is in poor condition. However, we need a lot of help in getting enough votes in to win this great prize.
I would really appreciate if you could get word out to all members of your society with roots in Kilglass to vote for us:
You can vote via email by logging on to: www.kelloggs.ie/fieldofdreams and vote for Connacht. The competition lines are open until the end of October, so we look forward to your support. Many, many thanks on behalf of Kilglass Gaels G.A.A. Club
