: : Help! I have been trying to reach several people who are listed here with Giblin ancestry from County Roscommon. Wouls someone, PLEASE tell me what I am doing wrong in trying to send email here?: Hello. : My father's side of the family claims Castlereigh in CO. Roscommon as our origin. I know very little more. I think our our first one to come to America was in the mid to late 1800's. I could : check with my mom, but I think his Name was Richard. He came here due to "political differences". That's probably true, though my grandfather always said the Giblins got kicked out for : stealing horses. : By the way, I don't see anyone listed. I hope this helps. : James My father, Patrick Giblin, grew up in Co. Roscommon in the 20's & 30's and finally emigrated to the US after the war. His family is from a small village outside of Ballaghdreen. During my visits to Ireland I've learned that the GIblins are usually either from Roscommon or Galway. If you think there is any connection with your relatives please let me know. My Dad is still alive so I can check any info with him. Thanks.
