Anyone out there with roots in Castlerea? My mother, Marie Ahearn (Broderick) was born there. Her parents were Patrick and Kathleen (Higgins) Broderick. I have two uncles as well, Patrick (USA) and Seamus (Knock, Co. Mayo). Other relatives include my great grandparents, Luke Broderick, Nellie Gaffrey.

My mother's maternal grandmother, Mary Carroll, was from Ballintubber, just down the road from Castlereagh. I visited there and stayed at Rita Morgan's B&B in Castlereagh in June 1996.

Hi I have family from Castlerea. Mine are the Plunkett name. My G-G-Grandfather and his wife Bridgett Roddy had 2 children that I know of my g-grandfather Michael B. Plunkett and his sister Mary M. Plunkett. I am told that they went to Canada and than settled in Boston . Do you have any connections to either of these names?
Thanks
Doreen
