My grandfather came to México 60 years ago from Oraison, France where he was born. We don´t know any relatives in his hometown and we would like to know where this BAILLE lastname came from. There is a Blvd. Baille in Marseille, near Oraison. Please let me know about our family!!!

If you have an Irish connection, then this may be it: MacLysaght says," Bailey, Bailie, Baille; This English name which, often as Le Bailiff, occurs frequently in medieval Irish records, is numerous in all the provinces except Connacht. It is an occasional synomyn of Bellew." There are/were Baileys in the Ballintubber area; some became builders/developers in Dublin. See Irish Times of June 1997 +/-.
