Surnames of people who sailed from the townlands in 1847-1848 include Brennan/Brannon, Carlon/Carlin, Carrington, Caveney, Cline, Colgan, Connor, Costello, Croghan, Deffely/Deffley, Donlan/Donnellan, Donlon, Fallon, Farrell, Finne/Finn, Fox, Gallagher, Geenty/Ginty, Gill, Hanly/Hanley, Hoare, Kelly, McCormack/McCormick, McDermott, McDonnell, McGann/McGanne, McManus, Madden, Magan, Maguire, Moran, Mullera/Mullerea/Mulera, Narry/Neary, O'Neal/O'Neill, Padian, Quinn, Reynolds, Stewart/Stuart, Winter/Winters, Wynne/Winn. There were other surnames who remained behind and many who perished in the famine and are buried in a cemetery at the townlands.

Would anyone know about a town/village by the name
of KILTRUSTAN nr Strokestown Roscommon,our Great Grandfather Peter McDermott was born there in 1832, Peter Married a Ellen or Mary McCarthy.
