: The Brennans of Connacht were originally MacBranain. They were chiefs of the region called Corca Achlainn. This was : approximately equal to the modern parish of Strokestown. They lost their lands and were driven out during Cromwell's time. If : anyone wants more information, I have been working on a history of the Brennan's of Connacht for several years now. I have : lots of stuff about their history before the famine. Contact me if you want to know more.: Best Regards, : Pat Brennan Dear Mr Brennan, I am researching my Irish ancestors. Have you come across any information on John Brennan who married Mary McCabe. They emigrated to the US but I don't know when. They had 5 children. The oldest, Anna, was born in 1859. Thanks. G. Bolan
