I am an american with the name of degnan. I am a decendant of degnan's who were in the civil war, and possibly the mexian war before that.

i am also part scottish, the sirname whitehead.

are you still looking for information about degnan's?

i was under the impression that there is a irish town called deighnan. i belive that i have relatives there. ever heard of this place?

i was told that three deighnan brothers came to the us in the 1840's, changed their names to degnan, and went their separate ways. i am a decendant of the degnan brother who moved to NYC.

My husband's grandfather was John Phillip Degnan born
in McLean County, Illinois in 1876. Who were his
parents and siblings? I have his history from the
time he was married if anyone is interested.

This is all I have but, I have two bothers and one sister

My father's mother's name was Mary Pryor or Prior, possibly Margaret
My father's father's name was, I believe, John Paul or Patrick Degnan
He was a police officer and died around 1929

married my mother. I don't know what her name was, and
he won't talk about it.
My father is now, 76 and probably won't live much more
than 2 years with his present health condition.
If you have any information for me, please send e-mail or
post.
