I am searching for information on the family of PATRICK SHEEDY who was born in Decmeber 1815, the son of John Sheedy [ farmer] and Mary Bourke. Pat was born at Oakhampton, near Newport,Birdhill ,Nenagh, Co Tipperary.
known aunts ;
Mary Sheedy married John McNamara of Birdhill
Catherine Sheedy married Matthew Finn of Ballinahind

Pat Sheedy was arrested in 1845 for attempting to shoot a police man and was sentenced to 15 years in Tasmania. He spent only 5 before absconding [ungrateful wretch]
this was 1850 and then he poked his nose into the arguement at Eureka Stockade in 1854 at Ballarat.VIc.Aust.
He quickly retired to the seaside where he married Ellen O'Connell in 1855 in Warrnambool and spent the rest of his life successfully farming in Killarney where he and his family resided.
Pat had a brother
Michael Sheedy, father John alive and sister Bridget at time of his sentencing to Tasmania in 1845. He arriver per "Ratcliffe"
We believe that Pat had organized assistance to escape Tasmania and what do we make of the story that he was a whiteboy in Ireland and that when he absconded from Tasmania he was supposed to have scuttled a boat and i don't want to mention what was supposed to have happened to the Captain's throat !!!
Pat's wife Ellen was supposed to have been a neice of the Great Daniel OcOnnell and she arrived in 1854 to Victoria. She was the dau of James Oconnell/Margaret oHalloran and was born at Cappahaleen,Co Clare c 1830.

We are looking to find what happened to the Sheedy family in Ireland and anything about Ellen Oconnells family.
pat had no siblings in Aust so where did his family end up
Can any one help me with information ?????/
I also have been collecting information regarding all Sheedy's for 10 years and entering them in a database so if anyone would like to add their info - feel free
