The National Archives of Ireland has begun putting the 1911 Census on-line tonight. Dublin City and County is now available at http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
The Archives plan to put the remaining counties on-line from time to time from now to the end of 2008. I have not seen any announcement as to the order in which the counties will become available.
The good news is that you may view the original documents and it is FREE.
Happy searching

Thank you Mike for giving us notice about the 1911 census so promptly. I have already found Devenish in the census for Dublin and look forward to the other counties coming online. Combined with the Irish Family History Foundation now putting online the Births, Baptisms, Marriages and Deaths for each county from Church records great progress is certainly being made.
