I am looking for information in relation to Thomas Shannon born 1852 in Roscommon. He married Honoria Ganley, also from Roscommon, in Dewsbury West Yorks England in 1874- their son Patrick born 1875 died in France in WW1 in 1916 Thomas' father was John Shannon a farm labourer. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

If you look at the LDS films listed by Ed you will see the names of baptismal sponsors and rarely the birth townland.
Check Griffith’s Valuation for Shannon/Murray/Murry/Ganly www.leitrim-roscommon.com
Entries for John Shannon at GV in Croghan (Killukin) Catholic parish
Shannon Catherine Killukin CP, Ballyculleen TL, Croghan
Shannon Peter Killukin CP, Ballyculleen TL, Croghan RC.
Shannon John Killummod CP. Canbo, TL, Croghan RC.
Shannon James Killukin CP, Cordrehid TL, Croghan RC.
Shannon Dorothy Killukin CP, Cortober TL, Croghan RC.
Shannon John Killummod CP, Danesfort TL, Croghan RC.
Check the Croghan Catholic parish map on the same website
Check the 1901 Census on the same website.
Check GV for Murray/Shannon/Ganly in Killukin/Killummod CP (Barony of Boyle).
For further details and to find the LDS film number for change of occupiers of land 1854-c1920,
GV c1854 Griffith’s Valuation, see the Resource County Roscommon 2007 CD at your local library.
CP = Civil parish, RC = Catholic parish, TL = townland.
Visit www.familysearch.org/ check library catalogue and view film notes for film 989741. It will show the changes to the name of Killukin/Killummod RC parish.
I am researching Byrne/Beirne/Nerney/Moraghan families from Killumod Civil parish.
Good luck in your research.
John
