Hello all.
Does anyone know why there is "School Ho" clearly marked on the Griffith's Valuation map of Cloonyourish, Fuerty Parish, Roscommon. It is at the head of the road, Map 41, at the cornet of Lots 8 & 11.
On the printed volumes and on this website database, no such school is mentioned.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Nuala |

Nuala,
Could it have been a hedge school? I know there was one in Castlecoote, Fuerty, and where it was, and the GV shows just School House in that spot. But as it would have no legal standing I doubt it appears on any other record.
Good luck!
