My grandfather, Michael Dooner, was born in Rooskey in 1896, his father was Edward J. Dooner, mother Brigid Kerrigan. He had two sisters Margaret E and Brigid. Any information about this family greatly received. |

Hi Eileen,
I'm working on a longterm project transcribing the memorials from Cloonmorris Cemetery in Bornacoola Parish. One I've noted is:
"In Loving Memory of Edward Dooner died 1st April 1855 Bridget died 4th April 1908 Kate Bohan Dooner died 3rd Dec 1922 Thomas died 2nd(?) Nov 1933 John Gray died 15th Sep 1975 Also his wife Anne nee Dooner Died 4th April 1977."
Obviously it's not certain this is the same Edward Dooner but if your ancestor was from the Leitrim side of Rooskey, then it certainly could be him.

Dear Tom, Thanks for your reply but my gt grandfather, Edward Dooner, was still alive in 1896 when my grandfather Michael was born.
Regards
Eileen |
