Is there a way to find household addresses from the 1911 census or the Ireland phone book? I would like to mail my research to any KIERNAN'S in certain parts of Leitrim (Drummucker, Drumeela, Newtowngore areas). I know that these possible family members are deceased, but maybe there are some KIERNAN'S still in the area. The online phone book doesn't list full addresses. The link below is one of the places I'm interested in along with many others

Thanks for any help or ideas!
Jeff

Below is a sample address in the Irish White pages telephone book (same as postal address).

Kiernan, XXX
Newtowngore Carrick on Shannon Co. Leitrim
(049) 43xxx000

XXX lives in either Newtowngore townland or Newtowngore Town, County Leitrim.

Newtowngore Town is in Newtowngore townland. Both are in Carrigallen Civil parish and Carrigallen Catholic parish.

Ireland does not use Post Codes or ZIP. The mail for XXX is sorted at the Carrick on Shannon Town mail distribution centre and then delivered.

For a map of Carrigallen Civil Parish visit http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/MAPS/carrigal.html

The other townlands you listed are in Carrigallen Civil Parish.
For definition of Parishes, Townlands, etc., visit

For the 1901 Census of Leitrim visit

Telephone calls to Ireland are cheap. I suggest you look for Kiernan surnames in likely townlands and ask for the address of the local Kiernan family historian. You might be lucky.
