Hi all.
I am trying to locate details of my maternal G G grandfather Edward Garrahan and his wife Mary Farrell.
All I know of them is that they had a son, Nicholas Garrahan (my maternal G Grandfather) who was born, I believe, on February 20th. 1828 in the town of Frenchpark, Tibohine parish, County Roscommon. I do not know if Edward & Mary had any other children.
I have no further knowledge of Nicholas until he joined the 29th Regiment of foot in Liverpool on the 18th November 1845. He married Mary Ann Ogilvie on 14th March 1865 whilst based at Newry barracks. On leaving the army he became an assistant warder in Chatham prison in Kent. Nicholas & Mary had nine children, one of whom was my grandfather. Nicholas died in Liverpool in 1881.
Any information on Edward, Mary & their family would be gratefully appreciated. |
