My earliest known Keating ancestors, William
Keating and Bridget Bartley(?) were in Philadelphia
about 1792. William left something in his will to a sister,
a sister, Catherine Byrne, in County Leitrim.
These facts are all that exist regarding
connection to the old country. I want to connect
my American line to Irish Keatings. Can anyone
help?

Most likely, Catherine "Byrne" was, or should be, "Beirne," or "O'Beirne." The Byrnes are Wicklow whereas Beirne/O'Beirne are Connacht.
