Patrick Burke of County Roscommon married Catharine McKenzie, Nov. 14, 1852 in Kentucky. They later moved to Cincinnati where he became a distiller. Catharine was from County Mayo. They were born between 1828 - 1831. Don't know where to start in searching for what has to be a very common name, Patrick Burke. Does anyone know of a Roscommon Burke family with Cincinnati connections?

My ggggrandfather was Patrick Burke from County Roscommon. His wife's given name was Mary. His daughter, Sarah Burke, was born c. 1810. She married Mathew Burns/Bierne in County Roscommon. Sarah Burns immigrated to Uxbridge, Ma. area with her son, Andrew Burns. Andrew immigrated in 1860. Quite interestingly, Andrew Burns was a wholesale/retail liquor dealer in the Uxbridge, Ma. area.

JEANNINE,
DO YOU KNOW IF YOUR GGG GRANDFATHER WAS FROM ELPHIN? I DON'T HAVE ANY INFO ON MY GG GRANDFATHER EDWARD BURKE OTHER THAN HIS MARRIAGE IN 1823 TO HANORA McCABE. THEY HAD SEVEN BOYS JOHN(1824)PATRICK(1828) EDWARD(1830) HENRY(1832)MICHAEL(1834)THOMAS(1835)STEPHEN(1837) AND MARY (1842). FAMILY LEGEND IS THAT STEPHEN WAS THE SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON, WHICH WOULD MEAN EDWARD HIS FATHER HAD A LEAST SIX OTHER BROTHERS.

John:
I am still chasing that information...I have in the past requested a lookup from the Rosc. Heritage Center to no avail....The last recourse seems to be to order from the LDS the parish registers for those areas that Patrick Burke shows up on the TAB and Mathew Burns shows up on the Griffith.....
