LOOKING FOR COUSINS: MY PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER WAS MARY FRAIN, WHO EMIGRATED TO BOSTON AROUND 1900, MARRIED JOHN LEYDEN AND HAD 4 SONS. FAMILY MOVED TO NYC IN 1918 AND MARY WAS WIDOWED THAT YEAR. SHE HAD A SISTER, KATE, WHO ALSO LIVED IN NYC. SOME FRAINS SETTLED IN FALL RIVER, MASS. AREA. IF ANY OF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR, PLEASE CONTACT ME. THANX, pl

'm sorry I do not have specific infomation for you, but a little note might help you in your search. I suspect Frain is really the Irish name Freyne (pronounced to rhyme with drain). These peple are descended from the landlord de Freyne which is obviously a French Norman name. Perhaps in future searches if you used the alternative spelling, you might come up with something.

Peggy,
There were loads of Frains living in the Castlerea
area in the late 19th century. I have found too many
to clog this site with. Will send you a separate email
with partial list.
